Guide
When you need your own grading scale
Every listed university here calculates on its own published grade points. This one calculates on yours. Set the scale once at the top of the page and it is saved in this browser, so you only do it the first time.
Who this is for
Your university isn't listed yet
Enter its letter grades and grade points once. You then get the same calculator, semester breakdown and transcript export as every listed campus.
Your batch is on an older scheme
Universities revise their grading tables, and the new table is usually not applied to older batches. If your transcript was issued under the old scale, set that one up here instead of using the current one.
Your department grades differently
Plenty of universities let a faculty or department set its own bands, or drop a grade the rest of the campus uses. Set up the scale your own result card follows.
You're on a different scale entirely
Postgraduate schemes, affiliated colleges and foreign transcripts often use a 5.0 scale or a different set of letters. Set the scale maximum and the grades to match.
Already on a listed campus? Use your university's own calculator. Its grade points come straight from that university's published regulations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I change in this calculator?
Everything about the grading scale: the GPA scale maximum, the letter grades, and the grade point each letter is worth. Add rows, remove rows and rename grades until the table matches your own result card. Then enter your courses as normal.
Is my custom scheme saved?
Yes. Your scale and your courses are saved in this browser as you type, so closing the tab does not lose them. If you sign in, the same scale syncs to your account and follows you to another device.
Why not just use a generic 4.0 calculator?
Because a generic table is wrong for most Pakistani universities. Grade points really do differ. Some award 3.7 for an A-, others 3.67, 3.75 or 3.80, and several award no minus grades at all. A calculator that assumes one national table will quietly report the wrong CGPA. Setting your own scale here avoids that.
Does the transcript PDF work here too?
Yes. You get the same semester-by-semester transcript export as a listed university, built from whatever scale you set up.
